Getting started with KC-868AG Pro for blinds control with ESPHome/Home Assistant
#11
Wait, so some 433Mhz devices just aren't compatible then? I wish that had been indicated before I bought the product because if so, it's basically a $50 paperweight then. So, some 433Mhz remotes just don't work with it?

you can try to config by ESPHome. not use by KCS firmware.

But is that suddenly going to make it recognize the codes from this remote? Does ESPHome have the means to talk to certain remotes that the native firmware doesn't?

we can't say firmware support all kinds of remote in the world.

No, but the product page could have mentioned that certain types of remotes might not work and said the reasons why so I could have known the risks before spend the money on what's essentially a paperweight now.

That also didn't answer my question on whether ESPHome might be able to work with the remote where KCS can't. Is it worth trying that?
