4x a16 modbus between

Hello.
Esphome, is it possible to control some output in one controler using input from other controller using modbus?
Via lan i can use post to webserver (bdw i can not find read status example using get).
Somebody has some yaml example how to do connection like this?
I like to set by software controlling light without cross switches cable between a16.
Just set some script and connect input to script what will be toggle output in remote output with read state.

why not use by KCS firmware, send customize command by HTTP or TCP or UDP.

use by IFTTT, send customize protocol , it's easy.
