Ceiling fan control not working with KC868-AGv3
#1
Hello,

I received a KC868-AGv3 and installed KCS_AGV3_V3.27.2 on it. I'm struggling to get it to work with my ceiling fans (brand / model is CARRO USA Osborn).

I can successfully listen and capture signals from the fan's remote, but transmitting them from the KC868-AGv3 doesn't work with the fan. I tried settings of 10, 30, and 100 for the "Adjust Repeat Count" option, without success.

How can I debug this further?

IR or RF remote?

The remote is RF.

RF support EV1527 or PT2262 wireless code. maybe your RF remote use by private RF protocol.

Is there a way I could confirm that?

maybe you can open your remote , check the wireless IC.

I installed ESPHome and from the logs, the fans/remotes are using rolling codes. Looks like it'll take some reverse engineering...

The PCB in the remote has a model number on it: QZ0009RF-V06

Unfortunately I can find no reference to this online.

The only chips on the board are an unlabeled SOIC16 and a very small SOIC6 (whose label is too small for my eyes to read).

Guessing that the SOIC16 is the microcontroller and the SOIC6 is the RF transmitter. There's also a 13.560 MHz crystal, so I suppose it transmits at 433.92 MHz (13.560 x 32).

it's not easy to copy that code.

Using Claude Code, I've managed to reverse engineer it. I'll clean it up and post the .yaml I'm using here. Maybe it'll be useful for you or someone else.
