Dear all,
About WS2812 I made a successful initial configuration.
Here are the easy necessary steps, the test was made with B8 board and firmware v3.27.2
1) choose a free GPIO, in my case 47
2) connect a power source to the led strip with appropriate power according to the lenght of the string.
3) connect the data cable to GPIO47. If you don't take the 12v from the board make sure to connect GND power source to the board too.
4) configure under "Protocol" - "WS2812" your led strip name, GPIO, led count and Enable it
5) after restart you find the strip control under "Monitor"
In Home Assistant add this portion to the mqtt: section of configuration.yaml:
- light:
- name: "LED Strip KCD"
unique_id: "YOURUNIQUEID_light_ws2812_1"
schema: json
state_topic: "homeassistant/light/YOURUNIQUEIDws2812_1/state"
command_topic: "homeassistant/light/YOURUNIQUEIDws2812_1/set"
supported_color_modes:
- rgb
brightness: true
brightness_scale: 255
Do a fast restart of HA to reload configuration.yaml and search for the new entity.
If you don't find it make sure to remove the entity filters to show either activated and deactivated entities.
You will find the brand new entity with brightness control, color, on/off etc.
I can't still enable the effects, kindly asking to Admin if you could eventually complete my configuration.yaml with the appropriate effect section.
Thank you!
