I still got not progress myself. I think F8 does not understand the message it gets from RS485. Any progress on your side?

Any word on this?
It also does not work for me in the same manner.
Have you tested your method with a current home assistant/ Esphome install? Your video is from 2023.
By the look of your code it is not even reading the incoming as it is not actioning the command  or giving an error message.
It also looks like the code will just not work for anything as parts of it will be deprecated in 4-5 months.
If it is working for you on 2025.6 please publish yaml and a video of it working.
If it is not working please fix or publish on how to get it working via core modbus protocol.

Thank you

Looks like admin not giving you any answers.
Try removing dummy_receiver:true completely. It looks like it is useful for modbus but gives issue with KC868-ha

I cannot seem to expose as an alarm device with day, night and away with KCS.
I cannot use Bluetooth proxy with KCS.
I cannot use the AC ir component with KCS.
I won’t be able to add standard modbus components along with kc868-ha with KCS firmware.

I have already fixed the deprecation issue and got it all working using Esphome. It is just unfortunate that as the seller that your solution to something that is not working is to use it with firmware that is less flexible.
