To download the KCS firmware, I am following the procedures described previously in this thread by JarekD, say (sorry for repeating):

    Brand new board, first power up:


    1) Downloads:
        USB driver first: https://www.kincony.com/download/CH341SER.zip
        Firmware flash tool: https://www.kincony.com/wp-content/uploa..._3.9.2.zip
        Latest firmware: https://www.kincony.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3791 (I tried either this bin file, the KCS_KC868_A16_V2.2.2.bin, and the  KCS_KC868_A16_V2.2.20.bin, which seems to be newer)

    2) Install USB serial driver

    3) Prepare board: if you have a radio transmitter and receiver, remove it
        Connect USB cable
        Connect 12V power

    4) Flash the firmware according to instructions:
        https://www.kincony.com/esp32-kcsv2-firmware.html (see the print of thdowloadtoo software after flashing)

    5) Power down, power up the board. Clicking the reset button is NOT enough.

For JarekD, after these steps, the AP finally appeared on the list of WiFi networks, and he was able to connect to http://192.168.4.1. Unfortunately, in my case, the AP does not appear on the list of WiFi AP networks. Instead, the board´s power LED keeps dimming, now every ~1 second. The onboard 3.3 V fluctuates correspondingly. See attached photo. I repeated the tests today, with the (+) red wires attached to the output´s connectors: no success.

Regarding the power supply, I couldn´t provide a >1.5 A yet, sorry. I will try it again with a 12 V - 7 Ah battery later on. Nevertheless, it seems that this should not be an issue because the present consumption is about 0.11 A. See the second attached photo.

Ok, if you believe there is nothing else that could be done. There is no need to send a new plastic case, of course.

My order number is Ali Express 8206371316537954, placed on Nov 16, 2025. Despite being an "old" order, I tried to download the firmware for the first time just a few days ago, due to delays in the design and construction of the electric panel of this project (a swimming pool/spa control unit). Despite (and because) of these delays, I am running out of time, and therefore I would be grateful if you could speed up the process. 

I am a novice user of KIncony products. I have previously bought a KC868-A4 unit, which I used as a prototype to learn and do some simple programming. 

I am sorry for that. 

If you have any further instructions, please do not hesitate to send them.

I found out that I bought it from the Kincony Controller Store. AliExpress store ID 911117046 (see image). Repeating it, the AliExpress order number was 8206371316537954, placed on Nov. 16, 2025. It is very confusing for a common customer to identify, among these stores, which one is the "official store". I have already written a message to them. I do not know what the relationship between you and them is. I understand that they might be your agent or, at least,  some kind of relationship exists because you share the same inventory and even the same logo. 

Still, I ask if you may make contact with them to consider sending a refund and/or a new board, either by you or by them. It is very disappointing and annoying to receive a defective controller. On the other hand, should you believe, alternatively, that a local repair is technically feasible, please tell.
