RE: Es32 8 or 16 Mo - Vorms - 12-31-2023

Oh bad new !
I need more memory!.
I am confused about the ESP2 for the A8S card ESP32S ? Is that pin compatible with ESP32 WROOM ?

I see the card A2 has a ESP32 WROOM wich kind of this ?
Can I remove it and replace by ESP32-WROOM-32E-N16R2 ?

Best regards

do you MUST need PSRAM?

RE: Es32 8 or 16 Mo - Vorms - 01-01-2024

Psram is a must but I need more than 4Mo of flash
Best regards

OK, if you really want to use KC868-A8 with big flash and PSRAM. you can replace with ESP32-WROOM-32E-N16R2.
just make sure let ESP32 IO16 should have a pull up resistance. it not use for any circuit. you can cut it, i have checked that have IO16 have connect with a pull up resistance and connect to PCF8574's "INT" pin. actually "INT" not need for PCF8574.
So i think if luckly, you can replace ESP32-WROOM-32E with ESP32-WROOM-32E-N16R2, then you can directly to use. if can't use by PSRAM, you can cut the PCB wire with PCF8574's "INT" pin.

Hello,
I double checked your last message.
Psram need i016 and io17.
On the A8S, io16 is 433M_R, so with no receiver it should be good.
Io17 is clk_net so it should be good to because I won't use the ethernet connecter.
I am waiting to receive the first A8s card..
Regards

i don't know which board you are using. because you have post the topic on the A8 forum zone.
yes, just test it when you received board.
