Personally, it's better to detect the loss of internet. RE: NTP not update - twostar - 03-15-2025 When doing NTP client queries, please consider good behaviour on the network for the client: One or two polls on power-up, then at most once every 60 minutes, and in the case of a network outage at most once every 5 minutes. There are way too many IoT devices that flood networks with pointless NTP traffic, with query intervals as small as 30 seconds, or which endlessly repeat queries in a loop if there's no response.
