ESP32-S3 Core Board - Disabling LEDs to Lower Power Consumption - egionet - 05-20-2025

Is it possible to disable Ethernet and status LEDs (LEDG+ & LEDY+) to reduce power consumption?

Also, can someone confirm if P3 and P8 header pinouts share the same I2C bus?

Thanks

This is just a guess but from the circuit diagram there's an LED SPD and LED LINK output going to the HR911105A ethernet jack, you could cut the traces on the board to disable them.  However I doubt it'll make much difference, HanRun document the power draw of the LEDs as 20mA at 2V which is probably insignificant compared to everything else on there.

1. that need cut pcb wire of LED, but it's very low current.
2. YES, P8 and P3 i2c bus SDA,SCL line is same.

Considerations for next version: (1) ability to disable Ethernet, (2) disable status LEDs (all).

With solar applications, every milliamp that can be omitted makes a difference.
