KC868-AP – max current per channel and per Vin terminal (current hardware version)
#1
Hello,

I'm planning to buy the KC868-AP (16-channel PWM dimmer) and I want to make sure I size my LED strips correctly. I've found different values on your website and forum, so could you please confirm the limits for the CURRENT hardware version?

1. Max continuous current per PWM channel: is it 3A (as on the product page) or 10A (MOSFET, as mentioned on the forum in 2025)? What is the recommended safe continuous current per channel?

2. The board has two "12V/24V" input terminals, each feeding 8 PWM channels. What is the max continuous current for each of these terminals (total for its group of 8 channels)?

3. Max total current for the whole board (all 16 channels at 100% at the same time)?

4. Does the board need extra cooling at high load, or should I derate the current?

5. Which hardware version is currently shipped, and are there any differences from older versions?

My setup: 24V DC, single-color LED strips, approx. [50W] W per channel, [400] W total.

Thank you!

1. actually we have only one version of KC868-AP. we use the mosfet max can work with 10A, but for safety about PCB track and terminal. So on the webpage, we wrote for 3A every channel.

2. each DC "12v/24v" terminal MAX 10A.

3. you can see 3pcs of DC ORANGE color terminal. so if connect with 12v or 24v power ,total 30A for 3pcs of terminals.

4. not need.

5. only one pcb version.

Thank you! One more question: which PWM channels (1-16) are powered by each of the 3 orange terminals?

Thank you for the answers! Two more questions:

1. Can a KC868-AP PWM output channel directly control the dimming input of a constant-voltage 24V LED power supply with "3-in-1 dimming" (0-10V / PWM / resistance), for example Mean Well PWM series? My plan: the LED strip is powered directly from that power supply, and the KC868-AP only sends the dimming signal (DIM+ / DIM-). How should I wire it, and do I need to invert the signal in ESPHome?

2. What are the specifications of the 2 onboard relays (Relay 1 and Relay 2)? Max current at 230V AC, and relay model? I want to use a relay to switch the 230V input of a ~300W LED power supply. Is that safe, or should I use the relay to drive a contactor instead?

Thank you!
