HAv2 already have firmware inside, just directly to use. i suggest you received product after a test then post your question.

Thanks.... delivery is due today so trying to understand where to start.

So does the HAv2 now come with firmware that supports standard modbus, or is it still using a propiatory KCS protocall as suggested by a number of forum posts?

HAv2 use by our private protocol, NOT standard modbus. if you want work with home assistant, just do as our video tour.

No, I'm not looking to use with homeassistant (I do use ESPHome and openHAB in my house), I'm looking to interface with openDsh in my vehicle via a python script and some other ESPHome based devices, hence my original questions about   HA485_KU_V108_RIO231124.zip 

I guess I'll try and figure it out!
