How to get started
#1
Hi all,
Not sure what am I missing, but spent already 2 hours browsing the internet on how to get connected to the A16 on first power on...
Just received my brand new KC868-A16 and it's my very first experience with Kincony.

The device is now powered up, but I can't neither connect via LAN nor WiFi.
LAN just doesn't get connected to my router, though it has standard 192.168.0.x network. The UDP_SCAN_LIST tool doesn't detect the board (my PC is on Wifi, but on the same network as physically Ethernet-connected A16, it sees other devices on the ethernet).
A16's WiFi AP is not visible either.

I tried resetting the device by holding the "download" button for 10 sec, no luck.

How to get started?

Jarek

Just one update, I managed to get successfully through the firmware update. Flashed KCS_KC868_A16_V2.2.2 and there's no change, still can't see the Wifi access point.

Ehh, ok, finally figured this out, so I'll write a quick summary - hopefully someone will find it useful.

Brand new board, first power up:

1) Downloads:
USB driver firstly: https://www.kincony.com/download/CH341SER.zip
Firmware flash tool: https://www.kincony.com/wp-content/uploa..._3.9.2.zip
Latest firmware: https://www.kincony.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3791

2) Install USB serial driver

3) Prepare board: if you have radio transmitter and received - remove it
Connect USB cable
Connect 12V power

4) Flash the firmware according to instructions:
https://www.kincony.com/esp32-kcsv2-firmware.html

5) Power down, power up the board. Clicking the reset button is NOT enough.

6) For me, after these steps, finally the AP appeared on list of WiFi networks and I could connect to http://192.168.4.1

Dear Members,
Unfortunately I connected my A16 board with radio receiver and tranciver connected to the board at first power on. Something immidetly smelled burned. But very quickly stopped smelling. I can't see any damage on the board. Do you have any Idea what got fried? When is the proper time to connect the radio? Why does this happen? Thanks for your support Best regards Felix

I did just that. Flashed successfull. Still there is no hotspot generated, and the Board can't be found over the ethernet cable. The port of the router does not even show the indicating light that something is connected. May something got fried powering it up first time withe the rf transmitters connected? If yes. Do you have an idea what and why?
Best Regards
