I think I've figured it out. There were two breaking changes in the yaml/compile step. One is the "ota" key requires "platform", and the other is the ota upload reqires a different bin file. (in .esphome/build/m30/.pioenvs/m30/firmware.ota.bin). so the yaml change needed is to change:

ota:
password: "2a26484203d80a83798414c879541760"

to:

ota:
platform: esphome
password: "2a26484203d80a83798414c879541760"

For the yaml lines:

  max_current_range1: "10"

Should the "10" be replaced with the max capacity of the CT clamp, or the capacity of the circuit?
For example, If I put a 25A CT clamp on a 15A circuit, should the yaml be "25" or "15"?

Within the yaml, I see these values are only used to compute the LED color, are they used in the firmware for anything?

"max_current_range1" only use for LED color, so that can change color for GREEN to RED. not used by firmware other function.
