AG8 IR Controller
#1
Ive recently received the AG8 IR Controller and I've tried to plug it into my laptop to install my esphome firmware but my laptop is not recognising it. Im using a MacBook but I've tried it on a windows laptop with the sane outcome. Im not too sure if I'm missing something but I've used esphome on multiple boards previously with no issues.
Anyone able t help.
Thanks

1. Do you have installed CH340 USB driver? here is driver download link: https://www.wch-ic.com/downloads/CH341SER_EXE.html
2. Do you have some issue screen photo?

I have an AG8 controller that is supposed to be connected to my router network via ethernet but its unable to , i suspect it could possibly have its own static ip address which is preventing the the router from assigning my AG8 an ip to join the network. I have decided to flash the controller via a flash dowload but got stuck with getting the firmware to use for the flashing . I would be glad if you could assist me on this.

Yes we are using it for home assistant . We have a kinconny server 16 with homeassistant running on it but the  server is unable to detect the AG8 when connected to a router on the same network. We have installed esphome on the homeassistant server as well. We were considering flashing the Ag8 with the flash download tool from your website to reset the AG8.

Do you want to use zigbee? or just want to use IR or RF signal?

Only IR signal

ok, so you can config IR by ESPHome.
use AG8's IR sender and receiver GPIO pins, how to config by ESPHome, see here:
https://esphome.io/guides/setting_up_rmt_devices.html

i have done all these but cannot make the Ir controllers control the AC , It seems the signal is sent but the AC does not turn on and off

#this is what i received when i pointed the remote controller to the ir receiver on AG8 which i used in my code to learn the signals

whether can find your AC brand in ESPHome IR library? if find it. just send by it's code, not need to learn IR.
