I already have two F16 boards, and they are not cheap, so I expected them to be more universal.
From my understanding, the F16 seems to be mainly a relay (ON/OFF) controller. Please clarify what the RS-485 port on the F16 is actually intended for. Is it only for use as a Modbus RTU slave, or can it also be used to control external RS-485 devices?
Is it possible for the F16 to act as a Modbus master or gateway, so Home Assistant can control another Modbus device (for example a small 0–10V analog output module) through the F16 RS-485 port, without using a USB-RS485 adapter?
I want to understand whether the RS-485 interface can be used in real projects beyond simple relay control, or if the F16 is essentially just a relay controller.
Thank you.
