I was planning to use my A16 to form a security system, and while door sensors are easy enough, I'm just a touched confused over how to connect alarms, buzzers, and a motion detector...
A four-wire motion detector needs two of it's wires to be connected to a 12v power supply (I think?) and it's two alarm wires can be connected directly to one of the dry digital inputs.
I believe that I'll then need to connect the siren and alarm to the mosfet outputs via two relays, which will then also have to be connected to their own power supplies?
Am I correct in this assumption? I purchased three 12v power supplies with the board, but I'm now worried that I'll need to purchase another one just to hook everything up! Am I correct in assuming that none of them can be powered via the board's 12v power supply? Can any of them be connected to a 12v power supply in sequence. *Especially valid because an alarm shouldn't ever be sounding (drawing power from a supply) at the same time as a buzzer.
And thus far I've connected it to Home Assistant via Esphome, but because my wireless networks have been hacked before I'd rather limit the A16's exposure to potential hacking attempts. Is there any other way to connect the A16 to Home Assistant so that it doesn't need to be constantly connected via ethernet?

1. motion sensor have 4 wires, two are dc12v power supply, you can use by your KC868-A16's power supply. another 2 wires just connect to digital input port of KC868-A16 and GND..
2. about siren, just chose to buy DC12v version siren, so that you can let KC868-A16 mosfet output drive siren directly. Because of the mosfet we designed by MAX 10A, it's enough for siren to use, you not need to use a extend power supply for siren.
3. the home assistant server MUST connect with your router, just if you don't want use KC868-A16 by ethernet cable. you can use RS485 cable conenct to your home assistant server's RS485 port. Such as if you use KinCony Server-Mini or Server16 Pi controller, there is a RS485 port, it can drive relay board by RS485 cable. Just integrate KC868-A16 to home assistant by modbus component using ESPHome. We have YouTube video tour for that.

Thanks for the super-quick reply! Oh my God, this board just keeps getting better! Yes my motion detector runs on 12v, as well as the sirens. I didn't realise they could all operate off the board's 12v power supply! When wiring it all up, do I need to also connect a diode to prevent damaging the board? (or have you already designed it not to require a diode?)

And my HA server doesn't have a RS485 connector... This seems like a pretty roundabout way of doing it but could I use a RS485 to USB adapter to connect it to Home Assistant? (Hmmm. Actually surely I'm missing something, because the existing USB-C connector should be able to fill that purpose?)
Are any of your other boards likely to be going on sale anytime soon? I can't use Wifi where I live sadly, so your board's ability to function totally wired is fantastic. (especially in a security sense!) It would have been lovely to have an inbuilt buzzer on the A16...
Are you planning to make any in future that might operate via PoE power? Having 12v power supplies isn't as neat as being able to connect and powering the board solely via that ethernet cable!

2. Sure, you can add a USB-RS485 adapter.
3. New version KinCony B16M will release soon, now producing. Now we have KinCony E16P relay board support POE already, you can check at here: https://www.kincony.com/16ch-esp32-poe-e...-e16p.html
if want 8 channel relay version, KinCony A8Sv2 also support POE.

So I'm fairly certain this is right. I just wanted to double check rather than risk damaging the board...
M - motion sensor
D - door contact sensor
S - siren
B - buzzer
Just the one 12V DC power supply is sufficient?
(Sorry the diagram is terrible, was the only software I had access to...)

I already have an 8x8 matrix keypad that I was planning to connect to some of the digital inputs, for arming/disarming the alarm.
Not sure that I'd have enough GPIO's for this, but is there a simple means of connecting a small 3.5" TFT display?
(I submitted a post just confirming how to connect everything, but it said the message had to be approved by an admin)

i think you can use a serial HMI displayer, such as Nextion Displayer. Conect board by RS485 port.

Ugh! I have to apologise in advance for asking something that's seemingly so simple. In my defence it's the first hands-on with anything ESP-based I've had...
My sensors are working exactly as they should, but I've literally spent an entire day trying to figure out why I can't seem to activate a siren and buzzer - and I'm bamboozled. If I'm correct, then when an output led lights up, then power should be flowing to that channel, yes? Everything seems to be hooked up correctly, but when activating the buzzers as switch components in esphome, there's no noise whatsoever!
I thought it should have been simple enough, but I'm at my wit's end trying to get what I'd believed to be the most simple part to work!
The code seems pretty self-explanitory...
