How to kc868 server with CM4 boot from SSD via USB
#1
Hello,
I read everything in the forum, but I still did not understand if there is a way to bootload a CM4 server from an SSD drive via USB. I've tried everything I can find on the web, but nothing works. I use a Verbatim SSD drive, model Store 'n' go mini ssd with usb 3.2. Please help! Thank you.

Hello, I need assistance with USB storage issue. I have previous been able to move data from eMMC module to an external USB stick (32Gb). Performed this previously on more than 4 KC868-Servers successfully, the last time was in May 2024. I was trying to update all my backup KC868-server devices to the new HA versions. Followed instructions from the videos, forum posts, and add & removed in the boot config.txt  "dtoverlay=dwc2,dr_mode=host". I tested will all the previous HA images i previously installed  Moved USB sticks to all the USB slots of the KC868 Server devices for 2 days. I'm still not succeeding. Is this related to HA updates, please assist with a solution..

It feels like you're having trouble using USB to boot your CM4 from a Verbatim SSD. Make sure that the EEPROM settings on your CM4 enable USB boot. Additionally, make sure that the SSD and USB 3.2 interfaces Compatible. It may be necessary to find a different SSD or adapter or try updating the firmware.
