New House Smart distribution box
#1
Hello,

I am building a new house and will like to create a smart system for all the lights and wall plugs in the house that includes many ESP32 sensors (humidity, temperature, magnetic, movement etc...) that could be used by home assistant in automation.
Also I am in a budget since there are many expanses with the new house and I will like to see if I can use the following setup:
1. Two KC868-A16v3 ESP32-S3 16 channel GPIO module that comunicate between eachother.
2. Each board will be used to controll a KC868-E16v2 relay board or a contactor. (Not sure which one will be the better option)
3. One board will be use for lights and the other board will be used for wall power outlets.
4  Also LEDs will be used in the house that need to be able to dim if needed.
5. I would like for the light switches to work also without HA but also to have a backup plan to make them work. (Ex to connect them also teleruptor so that it will work even if the A16 or A32 boards will be turned off or burned.)
6. Could perhaps A32 board be a better option for controlling the lights?

Can you please confirm if the board mentioned above are the correct ones or maybe could you please suggest a better architecture that I could use to design the the electrical grid of the house?

Really appreciate of help on this matter,
Erazer

if you want have a backup way for control relay. suggest use newest controller KinCony F16 instead of KC868-A16v3+KC868-E16v2. Because of F16 have manual control buttons, F16=(KC868-A16v3+KC868-E16v).

if want connect with socket, suggest add a extend 25A contactor, that will be more safety.

Thank you for your reply.
I am a beginer with kincony boards and only experimented directly on many esp32 separate chips so I will not like to purchase directly F16 and start with a model that even if I break it it will not hurt as much as it would with F16.

Will there be an option to use A16v3 with a telerupter for lights and contactosr for power sockets?
Also maybe I could leverage A32 10amps relays directly for lights and use contactors only for power sockets?
Is that also a good option? I am trying to narrow down what order to place on your official shop and will like to order the right parts from the beginig Smile

Thanks for your assistance.

KC868-A16v3 + KC868-E16v2 is ok. it will be better than KC868-A32, A32 use KCS v2, but A16v3 use KCS v3.

Thanks for your reply.
I was also watching the new B16 board. Seems to be envem better than KC868-A16v3 + KC868-E16v2 and the price is close to this boards together.
I have some additional questions:
1. Can I use B16 board directly to control the lights in that house that consume less than 1200 W?
2. Can I use B16 board with teleruptors of 16A for Power sockets?
3. Can I use KC868-A16v3 with teleruptors of 16A for Power sockets?
4. Can B16 comunicate with KC868-A16v3 in a sense that I want to cotroll a light connected to B16 from a an input in the KC868-A16v3?
5. Are all this automation scenarios possible from HA?

Sorry for so many questions.
Thanks in advance for your advice,
Erazer

1-2:B16 can't work with 1200w load directly, the relay MAX7A, only use for small current load. for safety, use KC868-E16v2 is better.
3: need add KC868-E16v2 or contactor.
4: why use this way? digital input use for switch panel.
5. all our products support home assistant.

Hello,
1-2: I was referring to the maximum load per relay. Please correct me if I am wrong but iwith 7A with 220v (AC single phase) that will be a maximum of 1540W load. My real load will be a 2 or 3 LED bulb light that are around 20W each. Is that a safe usecase scenario for B16 relays?
3. Ok so a contactor is required. Thank you.
4. KC868-A16v3 and B16 will be sitting in different physical locations of the house and I was wondering if I could connect a light switch to B16 digital input to control a relay on the KC868-A16v3. If that is not possible what extension board can I use to have more digital inputs for KC868-A16v3 or B16?
5. Thank you.
6. If I would like to have also lights dimming capabilities on the lights controlled by KC868-A16v3 what boards/setup could I use from Kincony?

Thanks,
Erazer

1. if using LED, the LED instantaneous current of a switching power supply is very large. usually use 60% of relay's MAX current is safety.
4. all controller just connect to router by network, they can work in one app.
6. you can check KC868-D16 or KC868-AP dimmer board, suggest chose KC868-D16+ LED driver will be easy to use.

Hello,
1. Ok. That means that I can use the 7A B16 relays to directly controll the LED lights that are less than 100 W load right?
4. Ok. Thank you for your clarification.
6. Thank you.
7. What kincony board can I use to increase the digital inputs of KC868-A16v3 or B16? Ex to add another 16 digital inputs that I can use to control the 16 outputs of an KC868-A16v3 board?

1. it should be ok.
7. you can add DI8 board, if you use by esphome. if you only use KCS firmware, suggest you add another KC868-A16v3 board.
