#1
Here is "KCS" firmware for KinCony M30 AC energy meter board.

.zip   KCS_M30_V2.4.7.zip (Size: 733.5 KB / Downloads: 72)
make sure your M30 ARM CPU firmware >= M30_KU_V10_240904SP

here is link for ARM CPU firmware:

.zip   M30_KU_V10_240904SP.zip (Size: 9.7 KB / Downloads: 66)
KinCony ARM CPU download tool:

.zip   KC868 Controller Bootloader.zip (Size: 8.56 KB / Downloads: 62)
use USB-RS485 adapter to update ARM CPU, make sure baud set to 38400bps.

v2.4.7 improment:
1. support display power with negative. support use for "generator", power feedback to power grid.

if you downloaded KCS firwmare, so it overwrote the ESP32, can't use ESPHome. if you want use ESPHome yaml, you can download firmware again, then will overwrite KCS firmware.

Hi there. Do you have the original firmware the m30 shipped with that doesn't support negative values. I am having some issues with negative values that shouldn't be negative and want to test the original firmware. Thanks.

do you want firmware with "negative value" function or NOT use it?
this is no  "negative value" version firmware v2.4.6: https://www.kincony.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6475

Hi.
I need the firmware for the ARM CPU. The old version of  M30_KU_V10_240904SP.zip that has NO negative value.

Also, do you happen to have the source code for the arm cpu firmware.

We have upgraded the firmware on the arm cpu to  "M30_KU_V10_240904SP" But we have got issues with some of our circuits flipping from positive to negative when there is no real negative reading...

Please see graph below

For this reason we want to go back to the old firmware for arm cpu

Thanks

I'm getting the same issue, if it was possible to get the older firmware for the ARM Chip (currently loaded with M30_KU_V10_240904SP) so I can test too. If the source code was available for this too, that would be great!

Great thanks, that's working now. I've spotted a few scenarios on the newer firmware, where the reading is negative when it shouldn't be. We've currently got it running alongside an Emporia Vue 3, we've already spotted that the M30 is more accurate than the Emporia unit (tested using a calibrated multi-meter). We'll keep monitoring over the next day or so and share any data and info that could help further firmware updates. In terms of the install environment, it's a standard 100 Amp, 3-phase, British installation. We're planning on getting more M30s in the near future to do circuit level monitoring in other commercial environments.

I also saw your 2025 Video update regarding the M60 - which sounds very interesting!

Also, are there any plans to open source the firmware for the Arm chip on the M30?

now no plan let M30 ARM CPU open source. The program is quite complex, we will maintain it. ARM cpu serial port modbus protocol is opened.
