How can I power multiple devices simultaneously using KC868-A16?

Ok, I finally received the relay module and set it up as you can see in the picture.  I also attached a single cable from the KC868-A16 output 1 to the port 1 pin on the relay module, for testing.  That did not work to power the relay module (no LED light came on on the relay module), so I attached a separate 12V 1A power supply to the relay module which did cause the LED to turn on.

The problem I am having now, is that even though the relay module now has its own power, switching on the output 1 through the A16 does NOT turn on the relay 1 on the relay module like I want it to.  I have attached my wires as seen in the picture.  May you please let me know what I am doing wrong here? Thanks!
