  Dead KC868-H32B ?
Posted by: bigramon - 11-21-2021, 07:45 PM - Forum: KC868-HxB series Smart Controller - Replies (16)

I have set up my KC868-H32B with MQTT in late august 2021 (I have over a hundred devices working flawlessly with MQTT). I use the inputs to monitor doors and gates and the relays to act as push buttons or switch on/on devices that do not remain on for a long time nor change often.

In the last two weeks, the KC868 started to freeze (not accepting MQTT commands nor reporting status).
Power-cycling it solved the issue at first but not anymore.

I tried to upgrade the firmware today and it did not change anything.

I configured the HC868-32B to use UDP (and not MQTT anymore) and started issuing commands as described here but it also stops working after about 10 mn. Moreover, the Web interface does not answer anymore either (only ping keeps working).

My network and my MQTT broker are working OK (as mentionned over a hundred MQTT devices are working flawlessly).

Please advise.

solid state relay voltage regulator with Dimmer Controller Poll
Posted by: ahmed - 11-20-2021, 11:46 PM - Forum: DIY Project - Replies (2)

Do you see the solid state relay voltage regulator series such as SSR-DV- 10
10Vdc i/p
240 VAC o/p

Is working fine with low current load? And it is safe and to operate?

Please answer 1. Yes   2. No

Please discuss your experience and practice with KC-868-D8 dimmer controllers.

  Compact 32-channel OMRON relays module
Posted by: eladn - 11-20-2021, 09:57 AM - Forum: KC868-HxB series Smart Controller - Replies (7)

Hi

I came across these OMRON relay modules with 32 channels. It can save lots of space in the power distribution box. Much more compact than using 24 channels module + 8 channels module. What do you think? Will you consider selling these in your store? I would prefer to buy your products, as I trust your quality more than some random store online. Hence I ask here first.

A picture is attached below. Here is an example of such a product: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001855288063.html (hope it's fine to share here a link)

Technical design considerations:
* Its length is 300mm, while the 16-channel module (sold on KinCony store) length is 248mm - so it's just 5cm longer - very acceptable. There are 16 relays in each line (exactly like the 16-channels module), but there is an extra control connectors strip on the side - that's why the extra 5cm is needed.
* Its height is 120mm, while the H32B* modules are 117mm high - very reasonable!
* Even though the product in the example uses 10A relays (G2R-1), still the G2R-1-E relays (16A as used by KinCony's 16-channels module) can also be used in the 32-channels module design. Both kinds (G2R-1 for 10A and G2R-1-E for 16A) have the same width (13mm) & length (29mm), and hence the same relay socket dimensions.
* I don't think the relays produce too much heat to be any problem placing them close to each other. Please fix me if I'm wrong.

Thanks!

Is the KC868- D8 dimming unit can be controlling the brightness (dimming) good with SSR relay?
The Kincony youtube clip is showing the led dimming driver is more smoothly dimming than the SSR.
Can you please indicate the type of SSR that can be used with Is the KC868- D8 dimming unit to control perfectly the brightness and input and output voltage range dc to ac ?
This is attached one are available in local market
SSR-40 DA-H i/p 3-32VDC and o/p 90-480 V A/C

For d8 dimmer , is the ssr is varying the voltage from 0- 10v dc and the output ssr from 0- 220v am i right

I found this in the local electronic store can replace one in the video of ssr dimming( bightness)
